Community Involvement
Geoff's Bike & Ski wouldn't exist without the tremendous support we receive from our customers and it is because of that support that we feel strongly about giving back to our local cycling community. We strive to be involved in as many cycling events in the area as possible, from Bike Rodeos at Elementary Schools to manning technical Race Support at many of the local races. Many of our staff are personally involved with local race clubs or local cycling affiliates and the shop sponsors both the Iowa City Cycling Club/UI Heart and Vascular Center Race team and the New Pi/Goosetown Racing Club. Geoff's Bike & Ski is also a primary sponsor of the Johnson County Youth Off Road Riders junior develop program run through the Neighborhood Centers of Johnson County.
Iowa City Cycling Club
The Iowa City Cycling Club exists to further the sport of bicycling through race promoting, team sponsorship, training, and mentoring other cyclists. As a club they strive to support all aspects of cycling and fitness, including advocacy, safety, and community involvement.
Goosetown Racing Club
Goosetown Racing Club strives to introduce, educate, and encourage individuals in cycling, running, skiing, and all silent sport activities. The club has a strong partnership with the local trails group ICORR as well as supports a junior development team under the umbrella of the Youth Off Road Riders.
Johnson County Youth Off Road Riders
The Youth Off-Road Riders Cycling Program (YORR) provides youth who have an interest in cycling with the coaching and camaraderie to help them achieve both competitive and non-competitive cycling goals in a safe and enjoyable manner. The program guides youth towards learning a variety of news skills and introduces them to the sport of cycling. Youth can participate in the competitive racing team or the non-competitive club.
Event Sponsorship
We love helping out local events that promote cycling within the Iowa City Area, please tell us more about your event and the type of donation or sponsorship you are seeking. Ride/Event Support, Product donation or monetary contributions, we will accept all requests. Please be specific in your request and detailed in your event description to increase your chances of being selected. Our resources are limited annually so apply as soon as possible.
